My 2 weeks in BLR

New job, new apartment, new city, new quests

Writing this during a Indie Web Club Bangalore writing session. This is not much of a blog post. It is mostly me saying where I am, what I do and who I meet.

Two weeks ago I flew from PNQ to BLR to join my first full-time role at ente.com

Before I had even boarded the plane, someone from CRED walked up to me. He had seem me using opencode while I was hacking on my home page, and wanted to know what shell I was in. He worked on their product team. We exchanged twitter and that was my first connection from BLR even before I landed.

I landed in BLR on a Sunday. The next morning I logged in for my first day at Ente. After 2 weeks, I feel settled. The work is good, the people are great and the best thing is that I know get to work on something I use myself, and something whose code is out in the open

I’ve got a small apartment. No real stuff in it yet. Just a matress, and a wall full of soda cans and bottles.

It’s nice to meet folks I only knew from the internet. Like nithitsuki.com. Too bad ni5arga.com ran away from BLR before I got here.

I want to meet more of the strange, cracked and insanely talented. I want to go to more meetups and parties.

I also want to help bring the Demoscene to India. Or at least make enough noise that the right nerds find each other.

That may be the whole thing with BLR so far. It is not easy. But if you show up with a laptop, some weird taste, and a wish to build, the odds of running into your kind of folk seem high.

Sometimes even before the flight takes off.
